Create tutor’s profile
By sending the application to become a tutor on Nanny Posse, you confirm that you have read and accepted the rules of our website and platform. After entering basic information, your profile will be saved, but not yet available in the search results for the students. Your profile will be sent for approval and verification by the tutors’ approval team. Please note, bio, availability schedule and profile photo are required for both new and currently registered tutors. Due to the high volume of tutor applications that Nanny Posse receives, only accepted teachers will hear back from us.
Approval of tutor’s profile
Nanny Posse will manually verify each tutor’s profile. Those that pass the verification processes will be invited to complete an interview. If tutor passes this interview process they will be issued an independent contractor agreement to tutor on the Nanny Posse Platform.
During the verification process, we pay close attention to the level of profile completeness, as well as assess the quality and qualifications of each tutor. In accordance with site rules, it is prohibited to mention any contact information in the profile description fields (full name, address, phone number and other contact details). We reserve the right not to approve a tutor profile without explanation.
Each tutors rate will be decide based on their experience and education in their given subject.
Interaction with students
When a student finds a suitable tutor for his/her requirements and budget, the student pays for the first lesson through the platform. The more relevant information that is stated in the tutor’s profile, including work hours, certifications, degrees, and detailed bio, the higher the chances are that the tutor will get the student that fits his/her specializations and timings.
Clarifying the details
The tutor and student can use the private messaging system on the platform in order to clarify the details of future lessons. Site rules do not allow the student and tutor to disclose names, contact information or social media accounts in private messages. If the system blocks the messaging by mistake during correspondence with the student, please contact our technical support.
In the first lesson, the student evaluates the methods and quality of the tutoring.
Payment for the lessons (purchase of lesson packages)
After the first lesson is completed and confirmed by the student, the system will automatically suggest him to buy a package of hours to continue the lessons with this tutor if student liked the lesson. Otherwise, your student will be offered to get a free replacement with another tutor. Working with this system is mandatory for all tutors.
Crediting funds to tutor’s internal account
Nanny Posse credits funds for the lessons to the tutor’s internal account. In order to receive payment for the lesson, it has to be scheduled in the “Calendar” section. After the lesson is over, we will send the student a request for its confirmation. In case the student has the auto-confirmation option turned on, the lesson will be confirmed 72 hours after the lesson completion time (or 72 hours after lesson is added to Calendar for the lesson that happened in the past).This feature does not apply to first lessons with students. In the case of any fraudulent activity, access to the account balance and the profile of the tutor will be immediately blocked.
Payouts from an account
Tutors will be issued payment the 5th of every month for all hours worked the prior month. Tutors will receive funds from internal account in the following ways:
- Direct transfer to Prepaid card from he Perk;
- Direct Deposit to Your Bank
For unscrupulous tutors who try to bypass the system of package lessons, penalties and ultimately removal from the platform might be applied.
Formation of tutor rating
Your position in the search results is the main factor determining your success on the platform.
After 14 days from the date of payment for the first lesson, each student will be notified via email and My Request section to leave a review for the tutor. If the student forgets to do so, feel free to remind him or her about it.
Working with «Find Students» section
In «Find Students» section we publish offers from students. You can fill up free time slots in your schedule by actively looking for new students.
Subscription to updates about offers
For your convenience, platform enables receiving notifications about new offers in your city or online to your email.
To activate notifications please do the following:
- Visit «Find Students» section.
- In «Location» menu on the left select «Local» and type your city or choose «Online Lesson Space».
- Activate «Receive notifications about new requests to your email» checkbox.
To deactivate notifications
- Visit «Find Students» section.
- In «Location» menu choose city and/or «By Skype» option to disable notifications for specific locations/Skype.
- Deactivate «Receive notifications about new requests to your email» checkbox.
Applying for the offer
To apply for the offer you need to write a message with your details and/or questions. To do this, select an offer you like and click «Show more» or click offer headline. Write your message and click «Send a message». After sending a message a new request will be created in «My requests» section on your profile, where you can continue a conversation with the student.

If you use ad-blocking plugins, we recommend to switch them off, as they may negatively influence proper work of the website.
Reporting an issue with the lesson
Sometimes you may face some unforeseen obstacles that do not allow your lesson to be carried out satisfactorily. This can include having some technical issues related to the lesson, being late or missing it either by student or you. In this case, we strongly recommend you to report this issue as soon as possible, so that we can take necessary actions in a timely manner.
Follow these steps to report the issue with your lesson:
- Go to ‘My Lessons’ menu
- Find your student and the lesson you’d like to report, click “Report Issue”.
- Select the relevant issue with your lesson in the pop-up window, otherwise select “Other”. Write all available information into ‘Comment’ field.
- Based on the option you choose, you will be recommended some of the immediate solutions available, otherwise, the issue will be forwarded to the support team.
Sometimes your plans may change and you may have to cancel/reschedule your lesson. In this case, we require you to provide your student with at least 4 hours notice. Otherwise, we reserve the right of every student to ‘Report issue’ with the lesson, and Penalties (Penalties include but are not limited to: a decrease in profile ratings, hiding or blocking of the profile, etc., dependent on the issue reported) for the tutor will apply.
You can cancel/reschedule lessons through your Nanny Posse Teachworks account easily by clicking the respective button under your ‘My lessons’ menu of the selected lesson record. You will be able to charge the student for the missed lesson after its start time (this applies to regular lessons only and does not cover the first lesson). You will be asked to provide a reason for the cancellation which, in most cases, will be forwarded to your student.
In the case of any fraudulent activity, including offers to bypass our payment system, access to the tutor’s account balance and profile by the tutor will be immediately blocked.
Taking a break from teaching new students
When you are unable to take on new students, or you know in advance that you may not be able to reply to messages on the Nanny Posse Teachworks Platform, please hide your profile from the tutor search results. You can simply do this by pressing the ‘Hide Profile’ button on your personal Dashboard. Your profile may be deactivated if you are not able to reply to new messages, and your profile is not hidden.
